Houston, TX (PRWEB) February 10, 2014

It is only a matter of time before torrential snow begins to fall throughout the mid-west and eastern regions of the United States. For individuals who work heavily outdoors and who rely on woodsheds, semi-truck box trailers or portable buildings for storage units, it is time to start thinking about alternatives. Big Texas Containers offers new and used shipping containers as well as secure vault-style modular safe rooms to protect goods and valuables at your business, home or rural property. All new and used containers are wind and watertight and can be customized by adding insulation, electrical, windows, doors and much more. This allows any consumer to have their storage unit turned into a working space during even the most difficult weather conditions. At Big Texas Containers, the roofs of the containers are designed to handle heavy amounts of snow, heavy rain and wind.

Big Texas Containers & Shelters also offers hard to find “side access” containers allowing the user to enter the container from either the side or the end. Crowley Presents Scholarships Worth $5,000 to Two University of North Florida Students

Jacksonville, FL (PRWEB) November 20, 2013

Crowley Maritime Corporation has awarded two Thomas B. Crowley Sr. Memorial Scholarships to University of North Florida (UNF) students Brandon Little and Aquiles Rodriguez at a scholarship luncheon early this month. Crowley?s Jim Gillen, vice president of engineering, petroleum services, presented the scholarships to Little and Rodriguez for their academic excellence and enrollment in UNF?s transportation and logistics program. Each student will receive $ 2,500 toward their tuition.

Little and Rodriguez?s recognition is in keeping with Crowley’s commitment to education and fostering future community and business leaders. Each year dozens of students with diverse stories are awarded Crowley scholarships. Little and Rodriguez are no different.

Little is fully engrossed in all things transportation and logistics at UNF. The senior is currently president of the school?s Transportation and Logistics Society, having previously served as director, treasurer and vice president. He has also taken advantage of the opportunities the program has to offer, which include representing the university at the Intermodal Association of North America Logistics and Supply Chain Management Case Competition this past spring. Little has also gained valuable experience through multiple internships including an internship at Crowley Maritime during his freshman year. Upon receiving his bachelor?s in 2014, Little plans on beginning a career in transportation and logistics and ultimately earning his master?s in business administration.

Rodriguez, also a senior, is a part of the board of directors in the Transportation and Logistics Society and is also a member of the student Rotary Club called Rotaract. He is currently majoring in both transportation and logistics and international business with a minor in Spanish. Upon graduation, Rodriguez hopes to secure a position at a company where he can learn new skills and apply the abilities he has already learned. Outside of school, he enjoys playing sports such as soccer, basketball and baseball.

Crowley scholarships are part of Crowley’s lengthy and ongoing commitment to education. Over the years, Crowley Chairman, President and CEO Tom Crowley Jr., has directed the company to present scholarship dollars to deserving students at the maritime academies and other select institutions in the United States, Caribbean and Central America in the name of his father Thomas B. Crowley Sr., who guided the company to extraordinary heights before passing away in 1994.

Since 1984, Crowley has provided more than three million dollars in scholarship funding for more than 1,000 students studying at maritime academies and other select institutions. In 2006, the program expanded to Central America and to date has provided financial assistance to more approximately 20 students in that region.

Jacksonville-based Crowley Holdings Inc., a holding company of the 121-year-old Crowley Maritime Corporation, is a privately held family and employee-owned company. where would i buy a shipping container?

Question by runningmother: where would i buy a shipping container?
I have seen where people take shipping containers and convert them into houses. I have lived in them during deployments as well and they served as restrooms/showers in certain places and they can be quite roomy and you can make them quite comfortable. If I were to do that as a “2nd home” instead of say a cabin where would I buy them?
